Ophav (Origin) is a documentary project about the rural culture on the Danish island Mors in collaboration with cultural historian Christiane Klindt Nielsen and Museum Mors.
During the fieldwork, moving around the island by bicycle and overnight in tent, we have collected over a 1000 b/w negative plates portraying people we met spontaneously on the road or in their everyday life situations, as well as poetical landscapes and traditional architecture. With Christiane’s interviews with local people a new and exciting part of my project is achieved.
At the exhibition at Dueholm Kloster in beautiful Nykøbing it will be possible to see the photographs, listen to the interviews and enjoy the several historical local objects the Museum Mors has carefully selected for this project.
